Housing Strategies

  • Tulsa Housing Strategy

The Tulsa Housing Strategy describes how Tulsa can meet the demand for 12,900 units described in the 2023 Citywide Housing Assessment. It is clear from the Assessment and conversations that inform this strategy that producing more housing units is the first step in addressing other barriers and challenges. This strategy focuses on what funding programs, policies, and supportive actions are needed.

  • Tulsa Citywide Housing Assesment

This study builds on the housing market analysis from the 2020 Downtown and Surrounding Neighborhoods Housing Study and Strategy, which helped inform the discussion around housing, but was geographically limited to the city’s core neighborhoods. This is the first comprehensive assessment of citywide housing needs.

  • The 2023 Town Hall

The Town Hall incorporates all the elements of a successful consensus-driven process by emphasizing collaboration, cooperation, egalitarianism, inclusivity, and participation. Each must be in place to arrive at the destination improving the overall business climate and quality of life for Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Academy’s Town Hall process is successful in implementing recommendations unlike any other because strong group relationships have been developed through the process that results in greater trust amongst the attendees.
